S. A. Miro provided civil engineering design and architectural as-built services for the new waste facility at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. The waste management complex receives all trash produced on base and after sorting, recycles, stores and distributes the reusable material to local Afghan companies. The site is approximately 70,000 sq meters (17 acres) consisting of multiple incinerators, scale\inspection house, maintenance building, multi-use facilities, hazardous waste storage area, and solid waste composting facility. Civil engineering services include associated site grading, drainage, roadway, and utility design. The project is helping to both minimize waste and increase recycling in accordance with US foreign output environment standard operating procedures.
