Fort Carson Training Facilities

RTI and TCC is a 40-acre training facility for the Colorado Army National Guard, consisting of multiple buildings totaling approximately 350,000 square feet, and several miles of utility infrastructure, including roads, sanitary and storm sewers, water main, gas, electric and telecommunications. The campus will provide billeting and classrooms for hundreds of Army National Guard trainees. Maintaining the flavor of the nearby mountain setting with significant view corridors was an important design element. This charged S. A. Miro, Inc. with maintaining the natural 6% slope of the site while ensuring appropriate drainage and storm water management, usable circulation through the site, enhancing a streambed feature through the site, and balancing the earthwork for the project, which included delving many feet into bedrock.
