Civil engineering master planning and infrastructure design to support a 31-acre mixed-use development adjacent to the Anschutz Medical Campus. The site is planned for the development of hotels, an office park, retail center, and residential in an urban setting. Miro’s responsibilities include obtaining entitlements, planning and design the required infrastructure. Entitlement included the City of Aurora General Development Plan process with master planning of the roadways, utility systems, drainage, vacation of existing streets and platting. Fitzsimons Village incorporates many attributes of the “new urban design” which entailed significant coordination and negotiation of street and utility standards with the City’s planning and engineering departments.
Based on the final GDP, site construction documents were prepared for each of the infrastructure systems along with site demolition, temporary and permanent detention and water quality control. To support the new development, significant off-site system improvements where required including upgrading the regional storm sewer collector and outfall, the regional sanitary sewer collector, and improvements to State Highway 40 for additional points of access.
