Structural engineering services for a new high school located in Westminster, Colorado for Adams County School District 50. The project contains approximately 375,000 gsf and is designed for 3,000 students on an approximately 30-acre campus, including competition baseball, softball, and soccer fields, tennis courts, and a practice field. The building is divided into two wings, a three story academic wing and a two story activities wing. The academic wing houses classrooms and is framed with composite steel beams, steel columns, and concrete shear walls. The activity wing includes the gymnasium, library, cafeteria, wrestling and weight rooms, music rooms, a 700 seat theatre, and administrative offices. This wing is framed with composite steel beams, steel columns, and masonry shear walls. Both wings utilize a concrete slab on grade, concrete grade beams, and drilled piers for the foundations.
Building architecture, structural and MEP systems were modeled in Revit Building Information Modeling.
