S. A. Miro provided structural engineering design for the new Confluence Building
(formally Student Learning and Engagement Building), which is a four story, 87,000 square foot facility.
Confluence is home to Community College of Denver’s Student Services and 14 classrooms. The college is being awarded a $100,000 energy rebate for having green elements such as chilled beams, radiant floors, and a green roof. Other sustainable elements implemented in the design of the building include triple pane insulated glass, sun screens, and vast daylighting. The project achieved a LEED™ Gold certification.
