Denver Hospice

Miro provided structural engineering for this unique project. The structural framing primarily consists of wood framed walls and roofs with structural steel at several critical locations. The building is supported on a 12” thick post-tensioned concrete foundation designed to bridge undocumented fill from the old Lowry Air Force Base and resist differential movements from expansive soils.

Unique features of the project included a heavy timber and glulam framed porte-cochere and chapel with a complex network of steel tube framing to support large glass panels and resist wind loads.
